Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell invited two well-known local volunteers to a Downing Street reception honouring people across the country who bring communities together through sport.

We can now get on and spend a good slice of the £20 million Levelling Up money from the government following the granting of this permission.

With Parliament in recess, it’s been a busy week at home.

The government has announced its Dental Recovery Plan with more funding to ensure there are more NHS dentists in our communities.

Here in Eastbourne, it is a challenge to find an NHS dentist taking on new patients and I regularly help constituents with finding treatment.

I called-in proposals to change aspects of paediatric care at the DGH to the Health Secretary on Wednesday as I promised I would.

The letter is with Victoria Atkins who now has new powers to look at issues like this. As the town’s MP I can ask her to examine it.

Residents from Meads in the south to Willingdon in the north and across the town from Old Town to the Harbour, constituents keep writing to me with their postal delays. I have a meeting with Royal Mail and will be meeting with the Postal Services Minister shortly.

I am asking local people to take part in an online survey about postal deliveries as concerns about the standard of service across the town continue. You can also write in or call my office to share your experience.  

Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell invited community leaders up to parliament this week to meet the Levelling Up Minister and discuss how to save Meads Parish Hall using the government’s Community Ownership Fund.
