Making the case for the A27
Caroline Ansell, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, has launched an urgent online survey to boost the case for investment in the A27.
"The A27 is my top priority in this critical time and I am in daily contact with colleagues in Westminster and partners locally but there's something only our local business community can do to help me advance the campaign."
"Cost/benefit will drive the government's decision on where money will be spent. That will be determined this year, with evidence-gathering completed by March, just weeks away. So, we're calling on all businesses in Eastbourne and surrounding areas to give us the insight and information we need to help make the business case for road investment, Polegate to Beddingham."
"We're asking what such an unreliable, congested road means to their business. Have they lost contracts? Clients? What could improved journey times do for their potential to grow and create jobs?"
"We know that businesses have moved out of the area due to the poverty of our transport links and we know that it can act as a barrier to attracting new business. All of this information will inform the study. So we'll count the cost but we'll be talking positive about our prospects too."
"Ours is a wonderful town to live and do business, we just need the transport links to unlock our potential."
