My Plan for a Brighter
Eastbourne & Willingdon

I've lived in Eastbourne for 35 years, it's where my children were born, and it's where I truly consider to be my home.

This is why I'm always fighting for it to be the very best it can be, for everyone across the constituency. Whether it's as a local Councillor, or as your Member of Parliament.

I have a plan to make Eastbourne & Willingdon an even better place for all of us to live in, work from and enjoy.

And trust me when I say this, I will be working my socks off to make sure it happens. Learn more about my plan below.

My 6 Point Plan

Save the DGH march along Eastbourne seafront Saturday 15th September 2012 E38115N

1. Fighting for our NHS

Making sure that Government continues to invest in our health services, campaigning with Save the DGH, lobbying for a new GP practice and a hospital shuttle-bus, championing carers.

2. Education

Ensuring every child gets the very best start in life through an effective voice to ensure our schools are properly funded, and supporting the planning for the brand new, purpose built, nursery-to-16 special school for Eastbourne opening in 2020.

3. Put Eastbourne on the Map

I secured millions of government money to help Eastbourne’s economy, but we need more and more innovation too. I support the campaign for Eastbourne to gain South Downs ‘Eastern Gateway Town’status to boost tourism and local jobs.

4. Improving transport links so businesses can create jobs

Fighting for the Polegate Lewes A27 bypass, for High Speed Rail to come to Eastbourne, a second run way at Gatwick, and action on journey times across the town.

5. Building a safer, stronger community

More police on the beat istop of the list, so I will fight for our share of the 20,000 new officers announced by the Government. I’ll support plans to build the right homes in Eastbourne, and ensure they are sustainable and affordable so that local people can live in them.

5. Inspiring a greener future

We must do all we can to protect our environment. So, I voted to make Eastbourne a carbon neutral town by 2030, and was instrumental in gaining Marine Conservation Status for Beachy Head East. I’ll put tackling pollution, poor local air quality, and single use plastics top of my agenda.

What Do Others Say About Caroline?

"

Caroline has been a vital part of the Save the DGH Campaign team over many years. A DGH mum herself, when she was the MP she did an amazing work behind the scenes and we now have obstetrician clinics at the DGH and enhanced care on our children's ward. We’re still campaigning for full Maternity and the return of other core services to the DGH and I know she will be excellent in supporting the campaign if elected again
