Caroline Ansell invited 36 residents to parliament this month for her second Westminster coach tour since the end of the pandemic.
The popular event takes residents to Westminster Hall - the ancient hall at the heart of the Palace - the House of Commons, the House of Lords plus the Royal Gallery and many other fascinating parts of the Palace of Westminster.
Caroline herself and her team took on the role of tour guides and the visitors were told stories of the history of the building.
“I am really pleased to have my tours back up and running and they are proving as popular as ever if this second one is anything to go by,” said Caroline.
“I passionately believe everyone should have the chance to come to see where and how our democracy functions.
"Doing so strengthens our system of government and gives people an understanding of what MPs do and also of some of the amazing traditions and stories associated with the palace that are very much part of our country’s fabric.
“Thank you to everyone who came. I think they had a good day.”
One of those who attended, Jannie said: “What a wonderful day I had. Thank you so very, very much for a perfectly executed day - from start to finish.”
The cost of the coach trip is £35 and includes lunch. Caroline makes no money from them – they are offered at cost.
Further tours are planned in May and July and into the autumn and winter. However, the May one is now fully booked.
