Happy 3rd Birthday to the Blue Van Armed Forces Veterans Drop-In in their new permanent home at the Eastbourne Rafa Club. The Club in Wish Road has been redecorated with support from Cornfield Road Co-op, Morrisons and many others.
No birthday is complete without a cake and it was a privilege to cut the cake on behalf of the Blue Van with Marian who received an award for her years of volunteering. Congratulations! Can also confirm it was delicious - thanks to local Feely Fancies for the cake!
It was a good opportunity to speak with community groups who support our veteran community when they come back into civilian life. The Ripple Pond, Poppy Factory, SSAFA Sussex and Combat stress are some of the fantastic charities working in Eastbourne.
I was also pleased to meet two very special support animals! Help really can come in all shapes and sizes.
