Yesterday I received an update on the booster roll out in Eastbourne and across East Sussex from the NHS.
I know there have been challenges in securing availability of some appointments across our sites. The truth is that this has been driven in part from a surge in people seeking their third shot - which is excellent news - and also vaccine sites holding back capacity to meet walk in demand.
This week appointments are being uploaded onto the national booking service so please do keep checking online or calling 119 across our vaccination sites. Additional vaccination slots are also being made available and additional workforce being brought onboard.
A continued priority for the NHS is to ensure housebound patients can be visited. This is taking time as the Pfizer vaccine is more challenging to distribute but this is proceeding at pace.
Furthermore the NHS is on track to meet national targets. Although I am not eligible yet for my booster as soon as I am able I will rolling up my sleeve once again.
