Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell has visited a local school to be quizzed by pupils about climate change.
Caroline went to West Rise Junior School in Langney on Friday to speak with 90 Year 6 students and answer questions.
She was asked about the Government’s policies to tackle climate change, electric cars, litter picking, plastic pollution and the natural environment.
The students also told Caroline they had picked litter on local beaches and the nearby marshland.
“I had a brilliant time answering a series of tough and very informed questions from pupils who are passionate about helping the planet and stopping climate change,” said Caroline.
“Politicians and public figures now owe it to future generations to act on climate change and I came away from the visit very sure that this issue will become more and more important to young people as the years go on.
“I think the Government has set some of the most ambitious targets in the world to tackle carbon emissions and move towards cleaner vehicles and energy.
“There is more we can do individually, as a community and as a country and we must all act now.”
