Commitments mean I will be in Parliament on the 11th. I have attended the service in the park every year it has been held but my thoughts are never far from home.
Thank you to Cllr John Pritchett, Chairman, and Willingdon & Jevington Parish Council who arranged this very poignant service once again at The Ruthless Memorial, with every important safety consideration made. The Last Post and readings were very moving and an important tribute to make.
I spent a quiet time at our town centre War Memorial this weekend and Hampden Park Memorial, to lay a wreath, to pray, to pay my respects and to honour the sacrifice of generations past who won us our freedom, freedom which, in this year of pandemic, is recognised as all the more precious, given our present restrictions.
