Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell has paid a short New Year’s Eve visit to the town’s vaccination hub to see first-hand how the older and vulnerable residents are receiving the Covid jab.
Caroline went to The Beacon to meet with those who are ensuring the vaccine is rolled out with more than 500 local people scheduled to receive it today.
“This operation is just inspiring from the moment people are greeted by the team from React - who are ex-veterans - to make sure people are safe right up until they are swept on through to the medical staff for the vaccination,” said Caroline.
“It’s such a quick process, including a short recovery in the building next door, just to make sure all is well. The staff and volunteers here are doing a brilliant job and I commend them for their service.
“The message from me after seeing this vitally important work taking place right in the heart of our town is this: when you get your call, please do step forward confidently. This vaccination hub is the future. This is how we are going to make our way out of this pandemic of 2020 and step forward into 2021.”
