My work with local Councillor Jane Lamb, Meads Community Association, our local businesses and the Post Office to keep a branch open in Meads Street.
The demand for post office services is high and the anticipated closure along with the Co-op store within weeks is a concern to me and local residents alike.
There continues to be interest from local businesses for co-located store. Post Office representatives have been to Meads Street too.
I have asked the Post Office to consider an outreach service to maintain this vital presence on the High Street. I will also be speaking to the Small Business Minister at a meeting shortly.
