MP Caroline Ansell has said a “huge thank you” to Eastbourne Academy when she visited to see first-hand how the school is keeping pupils safe during the pandemic.
Caroline met with principal Victoria Stevens, year 7 pupils and staff on a recent visit to the Brodrick Road school in the town.
She was shown how the school has arranged the site so pupils and staff can come back safely and confidently for the start of term.
“This was a really inspiring visit to Eastbourne Academy and to see the year 7 pupils hard at work and so focused was a real joy,” said Caroline.
“It was really good to speak to teachers, school leaders and the principal and to see everything that has been put in place to make a return to studies possible.
“It was great to hear that buzz of pupils back learning, seeing their friends again and moving forward with their studies.
“I couldn’t have been more impressed with what the school has done, so a huge thank you to Eastbourne Academy for all its doing and to the students as well - 98% of them were in school today.”
