Caroline Ansell has visited Lotus Labels, a local specialist printer and manufacturer to tour the premises and meet staff.
The company in Alder Close offers various printing and design services including labels and folded carton packaging.
It is also committed to sustainability and uses eco-friendly printing methods and recycled materials whenever possible.
During her visit, Caroline met with co-owner of Lotus Labels Andreas Schillinger to discuss the business's achievements and some of the challenges and opportunities.
Caroline promised the feedback from Lotus Labels' employees and owners would be passed on to the Chancellor.
During her tour learned about the array of specialist equipment used in the production process including flexo and digital printing presses, finishing and cutting machines and the production machines for applying foils and embellishments to labels and cartons.
The MP noted the factory's chocolatey aroma and was told labels destined for schools were being infused with the scent of many children's favourite treats.
"What a treat to visit this cutting-edge business right here in Eastbourne that is employing people, investing, and is environmentally conscious,” said Caroline.
“In my previous life as a teacher I was very fond of a label and we would just print them on a small printer, but it was amazing to see label printing at such a huge scale, and in Eastbourne."
“Many thanks to everyone at Lotus Labels for the friendly welcome.”
