Cllr. Caroline Ansell welcomed Conservative MP Claire Perry to Eastbourne on Friday to address a gathering of local party supporters and activists. Claire Perry has been in the news recently for being at the forefront of the campaign to radically improve online child protection, she is advising the Prime Minister David Cameron on the issue and explained to the group what steps the Government is taking to improve online safety:
"My job as the Prime Minister's Adviser on Preventing the Commercialisation and Sexualisation of Childhood is to help make sure these changes happen and that is what I will do. It is our ambition to make Britain among the most family friendly places in the world to use the internet and by working together we can make that happen".
Claire, who is also Parliamentary Private Secretary to The Defence Secretary Philip Hammond, also discussed the current state of affairs in Syria.
