As I have indicated before, I have had more correspondence on the subject of fox hunting than any other subject since I have been MP for Eastbourne and Willingdon.  It’s my view that the hunting act should not be amended as such a move would be completely out of step with the wishes of most people in the country, and certainly in my constituency.

It is quite legitimate to have a vote as it was in our manifesto.  However, I have always been very clear that I would not support a repeal of the hunting act, or indeed any amendment to it that made a return to fox hunting easier or more likely.
